Skills To Learn During Quarantine Lockdown

So, if you’re anything like the rest of the world right now, you’re probably stuck under lock down in your house while we try to solve the coronavirus problem.

Those days can be boring… so much time but nothing to do, right? Wrong! This is the perfect time to sharpen a known skill, or to work on something totally new! Now is the time to get creative and see what you can do when you have the time.

I’ve learned that life will sometimes give you garbage on a platter and tell you to eat up, but you always have the choice to throw it out and choose to cook your own meal. Sure, being stuck at home sucks, but there’s always a way to make lemonade out of lemons!

How To Find What Skills To Work On

One question I get a lot is, how do I know what to work on? Well, I would start by brainstorming all the potential things you might want to do. Start to think back about all those things you said you would do if you had the time – well you’ve got the time now!

Think about anything and everything you enjoy doing, and run some Google searches to see what links up with that.

I like to scroll through Youtube and throw in random ideas in the search bar and see what craziness comes out. Youtube is such a great resource for learning how to do just about anything – it’s all pretty crazy when you really think about it. Technology has advanced so far in such a short period of time!

Here’s a great little video explaining 5 random skills this guy decided to work on while he was under lock and key. The engine sound he created using the Monster can sounded so realistic! These are cool party tricks that you will be able to use for the rest of your life, so while they may seem small now, they add up.

I personally love to bike, hike trails, hack computers and play video games. I’ve had to cut down a bit on the trail hiking as most of my favorite places are closed, but I’ve been gaining computer knowledge every single day!

What About Work Related Skills?

I’ve been using PluralSight to work towards getting my IT certifications and it’s been working great. Think about something you could be improving, such as your knowledge of processes and procedures used at work, or group skills.

There are many other sites you can go to as well with a plethora of helpful things. Skillshare is one example, Udemy is also a good one too. These sites both feature experts at a task who do a video walk-through and show you how to truly kick butt at whatever you like to do.

Another great resource is MIT Open Learning, where you can find free video lectures online from some of the most knowledgeable people in the world on the subject. Technology really blows my mind sometimes – you can get a MIT level education for free, in the comfort of your own home!

They have courses in almost any subject you would be able to major in, so it’s a great way to see if you would like a certain course before you fully commit.

Show Me The Money! Let’s Brush Up On Financial Knowledge

Now, my final recommendation for lock down skills are going to be ones that make you money! What could be better than setting up a passive income stream while you are home, one that will continue to make you money even when you return to work?

For me, this is the dream and I work towards it everyday! Money skills are insanely helpful throughout your entire lives, and I think the video posted below does a great job at highlighting some truly amazing skills that will help to make you more money.

One of the big ones that I like to focus on is speed reading. If you can read more than the average person, you can make more money than the average person. Cut and dry. I believe speed reading would be the first skill I would attempt to master as I can guarantee you will see HUGE results from it throughout your life.

Another great money skill is copy writing – if you have any interest in marketing, sales, or writing you absolutely need to learn copy writing. You can instantly start to earn more money from your products and web pages if you can successfully get people to buy from you.

Finally, if nothing here is floating your boat, I wanted to drop a big list of stuff to learn to get your mind moving!

  • Train your cat to use the toilet
  • Learn new yoga skills
  • Discover Qigong
  • How to fix a faulty toilet
  • Multitude of Ted Talks
  • Improve your memory
  • Build your own birdhouse
  • How to moonwalk / pop and lock
  • Clean your headphones
  • Improve posture
  • Job interview skills

Shortcut To Getting Muscles? Hold On One Second!

Introduction To Hormones

Hey guys, Fred here again with another installment of my video learning series. Today I am going to be going over some interesting information I found online. We all know that hormones, mainly testosterone, have a huge impact on energy levels, ease of gaining muscles, and a lot more. Low testosterone levels have even been associated with higher levels of depression.

So naturally, people have trying to find ways to increase testosterone production in their bodies. There are many natural ways, such as weight-lifting, eating a high protein diet and more.

Check Your Vitamin D!

One very interesting way is to check your Vitamin D levels. According to the research I’ve done online, vitamin D deficiencies are woefully under diagnosed. Couple that with office work and sunscreens, and many people just aren’t getting as much of the D as they need. Try taking a good quality Vitamin D supplement and see if you start to feel a lot better.

Fred’s Tips! Take your Vitamin D supplement with a high fat meal. This increases absorption.

Another way to increase testosterone is to take a testosterone booster. Now there are many types of boosters on the market, including prescription options for those that are dangerously low on the hormone. These prescriptions are hard to get and can be dangerous if used incorrectly, so an over the counter method is preferable.

What is HGH? How does it work?

Another hormone that is essential for muscle growth is HGH, or human growth hormone. This hormone can speed up fat loss and increase muscle gain – all pretty sweet things. It is also correlated to energy levels, more HGH generally means more energy.

The prescription method to increasing HGH is by taking a hormone called Somatropine, which is an injection. This prescription is also hard to get and not many people want to be injecting themselves daily. While I was researching, I came across a review of HGH-X2. This product is manufactured by Crazy Bulk and has great feedback on it’s website and throughout the Web. I would recommend giving it a try if you can afford it.

Here is a video which explains the hormone process and how HGH affects the body. This is a really fascinating video that will give you a great breakdown on how human growth hormone works on different body functions (did you know HGH was primarily responsible for your height, hand size, and is highly correlated to bone growth?)

Hope you enjoyed this post! Have a fantastic day.

Fred’s Top Health Tips for Optimal Health

optimal-health-wellness-strategiesHey guys, Fred here again! This time I’ve got something real special that should really spark your fancy! I’m about to lay out on the line my top health and fitness tips for living a long and happy life. This is the good stuff right here!

These are mostly fairly simple but extremely power strategies that can boost your longevity by a hefty amount. This advice doesn’t just help you live longer, but to have more quality years as well.

What I mean by this is you could make it to 80 but be in horrible shape with memory problems, or you can live to see 80 while still retaining most of your mental skills and a fair amount of physical as well!

We aim to live long, happy lives that are full of purpose. Enough with my rambling (I’m good at it), lets get right into the meat of this story. How to live a longer and happier life with these super tips!

Cut Out Refined Carbs!

This a big one. I know, we all love our cakes, bread and pasta but our bodies most definitely do not. White flour has been processed and refined, which removes many of the vitamins and nutrients that come from whole grains have been removed.

This makes it essentially empty calories, and because we eat so much of this stuff it really adds up on the scales. White flour also can spike your blood sugar, leaving you at risk for insulin resistance or diabetes.

This site gives a great overview of why white flour is so bad for you. It’s not terrible to indulge every once and a while, but you’ve got to be careful because this stuff can really add up!

Get Out and Get Some Sun

the power of vitamin dAnother incredible tip and one that is SO SIMPLE but can be hard to do in practice, is to get outside and get your daily dose of Vitamin D.

Vitamin D has been in the spotlight recently, as many researchers are finding that most of the popular is actually deficient in this key vitamin.

Additionally, this incredible vitamin also helps you body absorb calcium more efficiently, ramps up your immune system, and reduces chronic inflammation in the body.

Some studies even show it to have an anti-cancer effect, which is truly incredible!

Unleash the Power of Green Tea

One of the first things I recommend anyone to do (if they are asking me for advice, of course) is to start drinking tea every day.

Tea has been consumed in the East for thousands of years, and we are just now starting to realize it’s incredible abilities. Tea has the ability to spark your metabolism and increase it’s power, pushing your weight loss into overdrive!

This means you’ll be burning more calories throughout the day, even as you are just sitting down. Tea also has a high level of catechins, an antioxidant that can protect your cells from many different types of free radial damage.

If the taste of tea isn’t your thing, you can always take some green tea extract instead!

Drink Your Water

I’m sure you’ve heard it a million times before, but that doesn’t make it any less true! You need to be drinking a lot of water each and every day. Water is absolutely essential to every single molecular process within the body.

We just simply couldn’t exist without it. So show your body some love and drink a heaping helping of water every day. I would also recommend you start every day off by drinking a nice glass of lukewarm water. This gets your digestion and other body functions up and running, and starts you off on the right food.

Wrap It Up Already, Fred!

So there you have it, my top tips and strategies for optimal health. I try and follow each and every one of these every day, but don’t get discouraged if you don’t hit them all every day. Just try again the next day, eventually these healthy actions will become an ingrained habit.

I hope this article was helpful to everyone! I know it is a little bit off the track with what I’ve been posting lately, but I felt like these strategies needed to be shared. They can make a real and measurable difference in everyone’s lives, so holding onto them would be extremely selfish!

While these strategies might be the ones to give you the biggest bang for your buck, there are many, many more that can be implemented as well. Head on over to this site, if you would like more health and fitness tips, as well as supplement reviews and more.  They’ve got it all over there, trust me, you won’t be disappointed you visited!

Cool Video About Swapping Diets!

Here is a cool video that I found on Youtube that looks at what happens when a health nut and a junk food addict switch diets! It is entertaining and a great watch. What I like about this video is that it is mainly entertaining and fun to watch, but also has some great health tips within. You learn without ever realizing you are learning! Very cool, and great job BuzzFeed!

Here Is a Great Video I Found Online

Hey everyone, here is a great video I found on Youtube! This is not my content, but it mirrors the style I am going for. The guy does an amazing job breaking down the American Health Care system and it’s inherent flaws. But he does so not in a political way, but in a way to inform the viewer who can then make the decision for themselves on what they want to do with the information.

Anyway, take a look at the video and let me know if you like this style or not!

Hello All and Welcome To Tu Video Curriculum

Why hello esteemed guests and colleagues! I am so excited to finally anounce the opening of my site, Tu-Video-Curriculum.com! This has been a true labor of love and has been in the works (at least inside my head!) for about 5 years now. I initially conceived the idea to bring quality informational and educational videos to a huge audience back in 2012. I was a teacher at Overhills High School and I saw how engaged all of my students were with Youtube and similar services. This fun videos really seemed to grasp their attention, much more so than my lecture! That’s when it hit me, why not take learning to Youtube?

That was when I launched my first Youtube Channel, called Learn With Me, a series of videos on all kinds of topics, normally health and wellness and also math and science. We also have a large collection of videos on history, with a special emphasis on Roman History. So anyway, fast forward to today and the channel is doing quite well. I thought that a great next step would be to launch this website in order to increase the number of people who are learning with us.

That’s enough rambling for me, hopefully this post has you excited on the possible potential of my site. Thanks for coming by!
